Cameron Brink was the No. 2 overall pick of the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She was an absolute star for the Stanford Cardinal and likely would’ve been the top pick if it weren’t for someone by the name of Caitlin Clark.

Much like Clark and other WNBA stars thus far this season, Brink is making news for off-court stuff. The latest example is the 6-foot-4 forward calling out male haters as she navigates through her first season in the pros.

“All these mad men in the comments, we’re just laughing at them. Like, y’all are so weird,” Cameron Brink said on Paul George’s latest podcast.

Obviously, Brink is talking about reactions on social media. As the WNBA continues to grow, there is a certain segment of the population that doesn’t necessarily believe that the product is refined.

There has been somewhat of a push back against the growing brand. It is what it is in today’s society. You’ll always have haters. That’s especially true when it comes to a growing entity such as the WNBA.

We’re not used to people actually paying attention to us, you know?”

Cameron Brink

About that? People are certainly paying attention. Brink has made sure of that through her first two WNBA games.

Some men feel threatened by a powerful woman such as Brink. It really is the nature of the beast in today’s society. But she knows exactly what she’s doing.

These women in the WNBA are different than previous generations. They are not afraid to say what they mean. They are willing to use their assets to help build the brand. Apparently, some men have issues with that. Brink isn’t about to take it sitting down. That’s for sure.

As for what we’ve seen from Brink early in her WNBA career, she’s averaging 7.0 points and 5.0 rebounds through two games.
