It doesn’t seem to matter where he goes or what he does; opposing teams are taking relentless shots at North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick. It’s making an already feeble 2-4 season all the more irksome.

This time, though, it was at the expense of Belichick himself, not his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson.

The latest team? Your California Golden Bears.

Cal narrowly defeated the Tar Heels on Saturday, 21-18. Thanks in large part to UNC committing a critical error late in the game. UNC had a chance to take the lead late in the fourth quarter with a potential go-ahead touchdown, but they failed to convert when wide receiver Nathan Leacock fumbled the ball at the goal line on a potential lead-changing play.

The catastrophic error allowed Cal to run out the clock for a hard-fought victory.

Cal trolls Bill Belichick

The loss was particularly stinging for Belichick, who earlier in the month had to issue a joint statement with the program refuting any doubts about his commitment to the team.

“I’m fully committed to UNC football and the program we’re building here,” he said in a statement.

Athletic director Bubba Cunningham added his own statement saying, “Coach Belichick has the full support of the Department of Athletics and the University.”

Simple, yet effective. If not convincing. At all. Belichick wants back in the NFL and would leave a trail of dust as he ran out the door if any team offered him a head coaching gig. And Jordon wants Bill to make as much money as he can while running his businesses and his reputation into the ground. She doesn’t care if it’s in Chapel Hill or not.

Let’s be honest here.

Cal, meanwhile, mocked the statements, posting a “joint statement” from Cal mascot Oski and “Cal executives” regarding their commitment.

The mockery ain’t gonna stop

This isn’t the first time Bill Belichick has had to endure some level of mockery from opposing teams this season. It won’t be the last time, either.

Earlier this year, Charlotte’s stadium video crew trolled Belichick and Hudson’s relationship in epic fashion. They broke out a “Gold Digger Cam” on the jumbotron.

That effort backfired, as Charlotte became the first of only two teams to lose to UNC this season.

The mockery has gone beyond college football as well. Earlier in the MLB season, the Colorado Rockies‘ social media team humorously referenced Belichick and his much younger girlfriend after a 21-0 loss ot the San Diego Padres.

Instead of posting the game score after the loss, the Rockies mimicked Hudson’s quote from an infamous CBS interview.

“We’re not talking about this,” they wrote on X, adding an image of an angry-looking Hudson during her beau’s interview.

Jordon has put herself in a position where it’s just too easy to make fun of Belichick and his new muse. Hudson has been a punchline during Saturday Night Live broadcasts. She’s been the butt of jokes from Snoop Dogg. Even Tom Brady has had a good laugh or two at her expense.

It’s not going to cease any time soon.
