O.J. Simpson’s estate reportedly had a buyer for his autographed “Kardashian Bible”, but they rejected the offer. The offer came from none other than Kim Kardashian.

Kardashian’s representatives sent a letter to Simpson’s estate administrator, Malcolm LaVergne, offering an eye-watering sum of $15,000.

Unfortunately, they had to reject the offer as the Bible was headed to auction.

TMZ reports that LaVergne said he’d have to be “insane” to take the offer … “cause he would rack up about that much in attorney’s fees to simply get the proper paperwork to sell the Bible outside the auction.”

While it might have seemed like a decent offer, LaVergne was probably right to opt out of the transaction. The Bible has been available for online auction for just days and is already up to a $9,800 bid. There are still over two weeks left for bidding.

Why Did Kim Kardashian Want O.J. Simpson’s Bible?

Some of you might be wondering – Why would Kim Kardashian want O.J. Simpson’s Bible? The answer, of course, is sentimental value.

The Bible is signed by her father, Robert Kardashian, best known for serving as a defense lawyer for Simpson during his 1995 double murder trial.

“This book will help. God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book everyday. God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child and he will use you again,” Kardashian inscribed. “I love you and God loves you.”

In a 1996 interview with Barbara Walters, Kardashian avoided a direct answer when asked if he believed Simpson was guilty.

“I have doubts,” he replied, emphasizing the jury’s not-guilty verdict as the final word.

Simpson’s Auction

Proceeds from O.J. Simpson’s estate auction are intended to help settle the former NFL player’s debts, including a $117 million claim from the Goldman family stemming from a civil lawsuit.

LaVergne had initially fought tooth and nail. In the days after Simpson’s death, the estate attorney bitterly promised the Goldman family would “get zero, nothing.”

The Simpson trial, known for its extensive media coverage and controversial evidence, including the infamous glove that “didn’t fit,” resulted in the former NFL star’s even more controversial acquittal in 1995.

It is probably one of the most egregious examples of a jury allowing a murderer to go free despite overwhelming evidence of guilt.

Simpson later went to prison due to a 2007 incident in Las Vegas where he led a group of men to confront two sports memorabilia dealers in a hotel room at the Palace Station casino. ‘Simpson ‘The Juice’ claimed the memorabilia, including items like family photos and awards, had been stolen from him after his 1995 murder trial acquittal.

Now, after his passing, Simpson’s memorabilia is being auctioned off. It’s the circle of life, really.

Other items of interest in the auction are a framed photo of Simpson with former President Bill Clinton on the golf course, signed by both men, his California driver’s license, and even some leather gloves.
