Travis Kelce and his brother Jason struggled to fight back tears in the latest episode of the brothers’ “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday.
The two recalled their feelings as they relived the events of Super Bowl LIX, where Jason’s former team, the Eagles, thumped the Chiefs 40-22.
Jason, who was torn emotionally in a similar fashion just two years ago when these teams faced off in the Super Bowl, explained how hard it was to want his old team to do well while simultaneously cheering on his own flesh and blood.
“We are still very much attached to this organization (the Eagles), which is why there’s a part of me that’s very happy and proud that they won this game, but …,” he said.
“That doesn’t make you less of a brother,” Travis assured him.
“That does not take precedence over rooting for you,” Jason added. “That’s why this game sucked. It was very, very hard to watch. As much as I love the Eagles, as much as I love the city of Philadelphia, there was not a f—ing ounce of me…”
At this point, he had to take a few breaths and regain his composure before going on.
Jason And Travis Kelce Share Some Tears
Jason wasn’t the only Kelce to break down a bit while talking about his emotions over the Super Bowl. Travis got a bit choked up, too, as he spoke of the brutal beatdown on the field.
Travis explained that it grew more difficult as the game progressed and reality started to seep in.
“It’s a tough pill to swallow,” he said, his voice trembling, eyes getting glassy. “It’s just a tough reality.”
Travis explained that he also had to contend with the reality that his NFL career may have come to a close as he contemplates retirement. He’s 35 – practically ancient for a contact position like tight end.
“I’m going to take some time to figure it out, and I think I owe it to my teammates that, if I do come back, that it’s going to be something that is a wholehearted decision, ” he said.
“I’m not half-assing it and I’m fully here for them and I think I could play.”
“I’m kicking myself for some of the tiny, tiny decisions I made on the field,” an emotional Travis Kelce said. “It’s a tough pill to swallow.” https://t.co/GJqS7dCkaL

Sad About Taylor Swift Too
To be fair, Travis Kelce did have a lot of things to be emotional about. The Chiefs got wrecked, he may be at the sunset of his career, and … his girlfriend got booed for the first time in her short NFL “career.”
Taylor Swift got booed mercilessly before the game even started. She was clearly dismayed over the lack of respect.
Taylor Swift got showed on the big screen and got booed aggressively.

“Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed, and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him,” a friend of Kelce’s recently explained.
“He always protects her and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this.”
If only there were some way for him to drown his sorrows. Maybe he can console himself by polishing up his three Super Bowl rings. His $94 million in career earnings might soften the blow, too. Or the fact that his girlfriend has a net worth of $1.6 billion.
Either way, stop with the tears, Kelce bros. It’s embarrassing.
If you want something worth crying over, Travis, try looking in the mirror at that haircut.
