I admit right off the bat, the universe of UFC ring girls has somehow eluded my attention lo these many years – but I’m getting better.

So it was with a heavy heart that I saw my favorite writer David Hookstead got to this one before me: It’s over for Brittney Palmer. She’s calling it a career at the seasoned age of 36.

That’s A Wrap

For those who are catching up (or just never bothered to look – you people don’t fool me), the former burlesque dancer is an absolute legend in the sport.

Count them four titles for Ringcard Girl of the Year at the World MMA Awards, with the first coming in 2012, and the last coming just last year. That can’t be easy to do at 35. I’m not much older and I hear tearing sounds every time I try to stretch.

She broke my heart made the announcement at this year’s World MMA Awards. Watch:

Brittney Palmer Is Talented

The bad babe is also pretty funny. Before the night was over, she literally laid down her iconic shorts:

As to what she will do now, my guess is that she will focus on her art.

You didn’t know she was an artist? Shame on you. However, now is the time to bone up on your knowledge, because in addition to her absolutely incredible normal Instragram account, she also shares her art with the world on a separate account.

I also want to be perfectly clear: she makes actual, real art. Not a few squiggly lines that gets sold for $400 million as a very obvious and open money laundering scam. Take a look:

I don’t want to get anyone too excited, but she’s also a nerd:

Of course, all good things must come to an end. Brittney has been a legend of her craft, and she’s going out on top. Really, in this life it’s hard to ask for much more.

So pour one out fans. The most Brittney you’re going to get now lives online. But don’t be too disheartened, she is still dedicated to giving the fans what they want:

Bon voyage, Brittney! We hate to see you go, but love to watch you leave.
