NASCAR’s Joey Logano has appeared on commentary in the broadcasting booth for the Xfinity Series over recent seasons.
He seems to enjoy it. So do the fans.
But what kind of thoughts might Logano have about possibly doing commentary full-time after retirement?
He opened up about that recently during an interview with SiriusXM’s NASCAR Radio.
Retirement Is Far Off For Logano
Logano doesnāt know exactly how much longer he has before retirement but believes it will probably be a while.
Which would obviously affect any decisions about becoming a commentator.
āI donāt know when that time is yet, to be honest with you,” Logano told NASCAR Radio. “I know itās more than five years out. But I donāt know, I donāt know after that. Weāll just kind of have to wait and see. How life is going, whatās going on.”
“But it definitely seems like something that I would want to do,” he added.
Logano continued, āI donāt think Iām just going to, when Iām done driving, Iām not just going to leave the sport. I donāt agree with that.ā

Joey Logano On Kevin Harvick
Logano also shared his thoughts about Kevin Harvick being in the FOX booth in 2024.
From Yardbarker:
āYou look at, what Kevinās doing right now. Not only does he enjoy doing it, and Iām sure heās getting paid to do it, but itās great for the sport. Itās the right thing to do for the sport, on top of it. Itās a pretty relaxed schedule, in comparison to driving a car. Thereās significantly less pressure up in the TV booth. Itās enjoyable,ā Logano added.
āYeah, you might not win every time, but youāre definitely not going to lose. Itās just like, you know what youāre going to have when you wake up in the morning. For us right now, you wake up in the morning and itās like, āAlright, I hope itās a good one,ā if not, āUgh,ā the week sucks. I donāt know, in TV youāre probably just going to roll through the same every week, for the most part. Thereās probably a little bit of enjoyment to that.
āI was laughing, because I flew home with Kevin after Vegas. He was like, āOh, how was your day boys?ā Heās there, happy as can be, joking around, having a grand old time. Iām like, āEh.ā Youāve kind of got that anger in your stomach at that moment, because of the race. Itās funny. So some day, Iād like to do that, but for now, I still enjoy driving the car, and Iāll do that as long as I can be competitive.ā
Regardless of what the future holds, at only 33 years old, Joey Logano still has plenty of time.
