Every year, fans eagerly await the results of various NFL surveys that gauge public perception of players, teams, and the overall experience of the sport.
This year, a survey conducted by The Action Network, drawing from over 3,000 NFL fans, has caught everyone’s attention with one particular category: the “most annoying” player in the league.
And despite all of the irritating over-saturation of NFL programming with Taylor Swift, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce does NOT top the list.
But he does come pretty close.
No, the “most annoying” player off the field is none other than Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP, four-time league Most Valuable Player, and quarterback of your New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers.

NFL’s Most Annoying Player – Aaron Rodgers
There are probably a variety of reasons why Aaron Rodgers tops the list of NFL’s most annoying players. He was very outspoken about his COVID stance. And poked fun at the infinitely unfunny Jimmy Kimmel. And was very coy about his injury status last year and whether he might retire.
As such, he actually runs away with the title in this fan survey. Here are your top 5:
- Aaron Rodgers (27%)
- Travis Kelce (17%)
- Odell Beckham Jr. (10%)
- Patrick Mahomes (8%)
- Dak Prescott (5%)
“Off the field, no one irritates fans quite like Aaron Rodgers,” Action Network writes. “The (New York Jets) quarterback topped the list as the most annoying player, with 27% of respondents naming him the most frustrating NFL personality.”
“In fact 43% of Chicago Bears fans — perhaps predictably, given the Packers-Bears rivalry — named Rodgers their least favorite player.”
To bolster my argument that his COVID vaccine stance did sway these numbers, the crosstabs on this survey show a whopping 36% of Democrats named Rodgers their most annoying player.
Nick Wright, the host of Fox Sports 1’s First Things First, has called Rodgers the “most disingenuous athlete of my lifetime.”
How Did Travis Kelce Come In Second?
Personally, I find it hard to believe that Travis Kelce came in second on a list of the NFL’s “most annoying” players. How can y’all still be bitter about Aaron Rodgers after he missed all of last season due to injury?
And then you spent that entire season having Kelce’s girlfriend shoved down your collective throats?
Oddly enough, despite having a pop star girlfriend heavily listened to by teens and younger peeps, the 18-24 crowd actually ranks Kelce as the most annoying out of all the age groups.
“Kelce’s high-energy persona might not sit well with some, especially younger fans, as the 18-24 age group ranked him the most annoying player (21%),” Action Network reports.
Or, maybe Swifties just think he’s not good enough for their Taylor.
A league promotion just before week one showed the “Shake It Off” singer five separate times. Meanwhile, Kelce was squeezed in three times, and one of those was because he was locking lips with Swift.
Aaron Rodgers only made it in the video once. Although to be fair, it featured highlights from 2023 in which he played roughly 26 seconds – give or take.
